How To Join Us


1.Complete the Online Application Form

2.Complete the Online Insurance Application Form – this is optional, but recommended.

3.Choose your method of payment:-

    3.1 Payment of subscriptions (and insurance premiums if required) by cheque, to cover each complete month remaining to 31st December of the current year, or;

    3.2 Print out and complete the Direct Debit form and send it to the address shown on the form. Please ensure you read and understand the Direct Debit guarantee.

Please note that subscription and insurance premium rate run from 1st January of each year and any increases will be included at that time with rates remaining fixed during each calendar year.

Membership Categories

"Middle Managers" - Station Manager to Area Manager) covered by the Middle Managers Negotiating Body (MMNB) for national collective bargaining purposes.

"Other Roles" Other FRS roles and professions associated with fire and rescue activities who may be employed either full or part-time on full-time equivalent conditions.

"Retained members" Fire and rescue service staff conditioned to the Retained Duty System

"Associate Members" Retired members of the Association who no longer work in a profession related to fire and rescue service activities

All members listed above have access to representation in respect of employment matters and to all other FOA non-representational services. However, at this time we are only able to represent "Middle Managers" with regard to national pay and conditions.

It should be noted that representation for Associate Members is limited to matters arising from their former employment. Anyone re-employed and requiring representation in conenection with fire and rescue related roles should maintain the level of memnbership relevant to that role.
