20/12/18: HMICFRS Publishes Findings from Tranche 1 Inspections

The HMICFRS first tranche inspection reports and the collective summary reports were publishd today (20/12/18). The reults are summarised in the tables below. The full reports are available from the HMICFRS Publications page at: -

The results come as no surprise to the FOA as they highlight many of the our long-standing concerns about FRS culture and how services are run.

It is pleasing to see that there are many examples of good practice but, as an organisation representing fire and rescue staff, we are concerned that improvement is needed in the areas of culture, diversity, fairness and wellbeing. It is very disappointing that, in 2018, it has taken an independent external body to highlight deficiencies.

The FOA remains keen to work with individual services, NFCC and the Home Office to deliver necessary improvements.
