Free Scheme Membership for First 3 Months

Subject to acceptance, membership of the Insurance Scheme is free for the first three months.

The Insurance Scheme offers exceedingly good value for money when comparing Scheme benefits and costs against high street prices.

APPLICATION/DECLARATION FORM

This form requires a health-related declaration to be signed. Acceptance into the Scheme and collection of premiums will normally commence from the date that the signed form is received at FOA Head Office. However, anyone unable to sign the declaration will be required to complete a more comprehensive health questionnaire -

The scheme continues to provide excellent value, low cost insurance for several types of risk covered by one combined monthly premium. These highly preferential rates are available to fully paid up members only.

To be eligible to receive benefits from the Insurance Scheme, membership must be continuous, i.e. anyone leaving the Scheme will not normally be entitled to re-join.

New applications for membership of the FOA Insurance Scheme can only be accepted from servine members of the Association. However, Associate FOA members will retain access to Insurance where they were members of the Scheme prior to becoming an Associate member, subject to Scheme membership being continuous.

 

Membership of the scheme includes the following insurance cover elements:

 

1. Accident / Injury Cover (applicable to member only)

 Accidental bodily injury resulting in:

Accidental death £50.000
Permanent total disblement £50.000 £50,000
Loss of eye/limb/hearing in both ears/speech £50,000
Permanent disabling injuries % scale. Max £50,000
Loss of hearing in one ear £12,500
Hospitalisation Benefit up to 14 nights £50 per night
Temporary total disablement due to accident (up to 104 weeks after 14 days):  (on or off duty) £35 per week
Third degree burns Up to
£5,000
Emergency dental treatment (due to accident) Up to  £500

 

2. Life Insurance (death from any cause)

In addition to Section 1 above, £25,000 payable on the death of a member.

 

3. Travel Insurance (UK and World Wide)

Insurance cover is provided on an annual basis and applies to the member, member’s spouse and cohabiting children under 23 years of age  You and all people listed must permanently live together and permanently reside in the United Kingdom
Your partner and/or children can travel separately and still be covered by this policy.
Cover is provided for any number of trips in any year up to 60 days per trip.

 

4. Legal Expenses

Covers matters arising from Personal Injury / Consumer Disputes / Home Rights / Taxation /  Criminal prosecution defence / identity theft / Home rights

A 24 Hour Legal Help Line for non fire and rescue service matters is provided..

 

5. UK and European Motor Breakdown Cover

Cover extends across the UK Europe and extends to both the member and their cohabiting partner for: -

  • Roadside assistance / Recovery
  • Home assist
  • Alternative travel
  • Misfuel assist
  • Message service
  • Keys
  • Driver illness/injury

Covered vehicle

  • UK registered car, motorcycle, campervan, motorhome, domestic vans or car-derived vans up to 3.5 tonnes, which a covered individual is travelling in/on at the time of the Breakdown including any towed caravan or trailer of a proprietary make which is fitted with a standard towing hitch and doesn't exceed 7 metres/23 feet (not including the length of the A-frame and hitch.

 

6. GP24 Service

The GP24 service provides you with unlimited 24/7 access to a practising UK-based GP from wherever you are in the world. Consultations are available 24/7 by phone or by video consultation.This includes cohabitating family

Experienced GPs are available to provide diagnosis, advice, reassurance or a second opinion. Should the GP feel you would benefit from prescription medication they can arrange and electronically authorise private prescription medication, where the medication will be delivered to you at any UK based address the next working day. Where appropriate the GPs can issue private Open Referral letters and Private Fit Notes. Each consultation is secure and confidential and there is no limit to the number or length of consultations.

 

7. Home Emergency Assistance

Cover is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year:

Claim Limit(s)
The amount paid in respect of any one claim and during any one Period of Insurance. For Emergency Work the cost shall be limited (inclusive of VAT) to:
i) The Contractors call-out charge
ii) The Contractors labour up to a maximum of three hours
iii) Parts and materials up to £150
iv) Contribution to alternative heating purchased or hired up to £50
v) Boiler Replacement Contribution up to £150
vi) Alternative Accommodation up to £250

Subject to a maximum Claim Limit of £1,000 for each claim related by time or original cause.

Emergency
A sudden and unforeseen situation which if not dealt with quickly would:
i) render the property unsafe or insecure; or
ii) damage or cause further damage to the property; or
iii) cause significant discomfort, risk or difficulties for or to You.

 

A £25 excess appies to claims.

 

8. Mobile Phone

Scheme members and their partners are covered against the repair or replacement cost of their mobile phones in the event of:

  • Theft / accidental loss / accidental damage / breakdown whilst in your possession.
  • The liability of any one claim or aggregate in any 12 month period is limited to £1,500. A £75 excess is payable per claim.

 

This package is available for only £23.50 per month
